New life...

So we're going to have a baby! Tomorrow! AHHHH!!! and YEAHHHH!!!! We found out about a week ago that the baby is breeched, head up, occasionally ramming me in the ribs, blessed soul. They tried to flip the baby, to no avail, so we're scheduled for a c-section first thing tomorrow morning. Nothing like planning your kid's birthday. Kinda weird, but kinda neat too. Mike and I have really been able to spend some great time just the two of us, and there's nothing like leaving work as neatly as you can, at least as much as possible within reason, and with no surprises. Been doing a lot of praying the past few days especially, maybe it's hormones, maybe it's the thought of being a mom so soon, even with nine months to prepare, maybe it's eminent major surgery, maybe it's the utter fear and excitement of meeting my child face-to-face after so many months belly-to-belly. Maybe it's putting all that together with a for-sure date and time; there's something oddly soothing about not knowing, and now that we know, it's all that much more serious, that much more intense, that much more, well, eminent. And not necessarily in a looming way, though in my weak moments of doubt, looming is probably not a bad word, but solid, for sure. This is really happening. Mike and I are really going to do this, we're really going to be parents. And I'm thrilled, and freaked out, and so excited, and a little panicky, and over-prepared, and under-prepared. But on this beautiful summer morning, the day before our son or daughter is born, I'm also so content. Our baby is healthy, we have a great doctor, I have the best husband on the planet, who's put up with everything I thrown at him in pregnancy, and in about an hour, we'll go, the three of us together and spend some time lovin' on the One who made all of us to be together. Thanks for your prayers, your love, and your support, what's been given, and what will be given in the next few days. Can't wait to show off our kid!
