Extra Extra! Read all about it!

Just a quick post here: Kristi, my sister, had an article that she wrote for the Virginian-Pilot published online. Read all about it here.

We did survive Houston. We will describe about it at a late time. First....sleeeeeeeeeep.

Ok-so I admit I forgot to check your guys' blog for about 2 weeks....but I just read every single post since June and they were AWESOME!!! Thank you, thank you Mike and Megs for writing beautiful stories, descriptions and posting fun pictures! I am so excited, and happy for you two. I can't believe the stuff that you are getting to experience this summer. I especially felt for Mike's experience of puking in his regulator! Ugh. But hey, he's always been a swimmer, so I am sure he did fine mastering the art of scuba. :)

Work at the Virginian-Pilot has been keeping me busy! They are throwing stories at me left and right! Which is awesome-because all my friends in my program are pushing papers this summer or making coffee. :) I am getting the "real thing" experience for 'sho.

Update on the job: I was hired as a temp. employee to satisfy my "internship" for my M.A. totally God story, I'll tell it to you when you get back. Well they want me to stay, and I am pretty sure that is going to happen! They will raise my pay and they are offering me tuition reimbursement of up to 75 percent of my M.A. for this next year!! Whooo wee. God is taking care of us out here in VaBeach.

Another update: We just bought our first home! Yup-Jason and I didn't think it was going to happen, but we bought a cute, totally renovated and brand new condo 5 blocks from the ocean front, and less than 10 min's from our church. We are so pumped. We wouldn't have been able to do this without my job at the Pilot this summer....and pinching the pennies big time! It's only 960 sq. feet-it's tiny, but cozy. I was up until 12 midnight last night installing laminate floors in the kitchen with church friends. :)

We even get to pick out new carpet and it has new windows too. Loving'life here in VaBeach.

Jason is gone with 16 middle schoolers this whole week in the Appalachian Mts. on a missions trip called "Jeremiah Project". They work on houses of lower income families for a week and bond with the families and each other. He is having the time of his life. Can't wait to have him back though.

Also can't wait to hear more stories about Belize! Can you send me a pretty pic of you two on the beach or something?? I realized that I barely have any pics of you guys!!

Love you both,
your lil' sis,
Kristi
